We made it for your bits. Apparently, some of you had other plans. 👀
Your Pink Bits was created to help improve the appearance of uneven-looking tone and dark spots on external intimate and body areas. Think bikini line, inner thighs, underarms and your peachy bits.
But then something interesting started popping up in our customer reviews. Some of you have been putting YPB on your face. And not accidentally.
Customers have told us they're using their YPB cream as part of their facial skincare routine, particularly on areas where they notice dark spots, pigmentation or uneven-looking tone. So, naturally, we thought the question deserved a proper answer.
Quick answer:
Yes. Your Pink Bits can be used on external skin on the face and body. Patch test first, especially when introducing it to a new area or if your skin is sensitive. Brightening skincare is about supporting a brighter, more even-looking appearance, not changing your natural skin colour.
Can you use Your Pink Bits brightening cream on your face?
Yes. Your Pink Bits can be used on external skin on the face and body.
While we're famous for looking after the bits that don't always make it into polite skincare conversation, our brightening cream isn't limited to your bikini line.
It can be used on areas of external skin where you'd like to care for the appearance of dark spots and uneven-looking tone, including the face, underarms, inner thighs, bikini line and booty.
As with any skincare product you're introducing somewhere new, patch test first, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
And remember, brightening skincare isn't about changing your natural skin colour. We're talking about helping skin look brighter and more even, not trying to turn you into a different shade.
Wait... why does facial pigmentation happen anyway?
Dark spots and uneven-looking pigmentation can have a whole bunch of different causes.
Sometimes darker marks develop after the skin has been irritated or inflamed. This is known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. On the face, that can mean marks hanging around after things like blemishes or irritation.
Sun exposure can also make existing pigmentation appear darker, which is one reason daily sun protection matters when you're trying to improve the appearance of dark spots.
And then there are other forms of facial pigmentation, including melasma, which can be influenced by factors such as sun exposure and hormonal changes.
Basically, not every dark spot is the same, and not every patch of pigmentation has the same cause.
If you have new, changing, persistent or unexplained pigmentation, or you're unsure what you're looking at, that's one for your GP or dermatologist rather than Dr Google.
The funny thing is, pigmentation isn't just a face thing
This is the bit we wish more skincare conversations talked about.
Uneven-looking tone can happen in plenty of places. Your face gets an entire beauty industry devoted to it. Your bikini line? Inner thighs? Underarms? Bum? Not quite the same fanfare.
But skin is skin, bestie.
Friction, shaving, waxing, irritation and other everyday skin experiences can all contribute to the appearance of darker marks in different areas.
That's one of the reasons Your Pink Bits exists in the first place. We wanted brightening skincare for the areas people were already thinking about, but weren't always comfortable talking about.
No embarrassment. No shame. No pretending everyone's skin is perfectly uniform from forehead to fanny.
Then our customers started using YPB on their faces...
We didn't have to dream up the idea. You lot did it for us.
★★★★★ Perfect face cream for brightening skin
“I use it as a face cream before I go to bed at night. I find it’s really lightened my pigmentation and I wake with brighter skin. Love the natural ingredients and it smells great. The subscription is great because it never runs out. Thanks YPB!”
Jemma, YPB customer
★★★★★ Appears to be brightening the skin very well.
“Appears to be brightening the skin very well. It does need regular use every day or the pigment does return. Great for dark spots on face!”
Amanda, YPB customer
We love hearing how people actually use their YPB.
It's worth remembering, though, that these are individual customer experiences, not a promise that everybody will get the same result. Skin is gloriously individual, and results can vary.
Brightening is not bleaching
This distinction matters to us.
The goal of a brightening skincare routine isn't to change the natural colour of your skin. It's about caring for areas where the skin looks uneven, dull or darker than the surrounding skin and supporting a brighter, more even-looking appearance.
We don't believe your naturally deeper skin tone needs "fixing". And we're definitely not interested in making anyone feel embarrassed about pigmentation, whether it's on their face, pits, thighs or bits.
Normalise first. Skincare second.
One cream. Plenty of bits. 💗
Your Pink Bits can be used on external skin across the face and body where you'd like to care for the appearance of dark spots or uneven-looking tone.
- Face: areas of uneven-looking tone and post-blemish dark marks.
- Underarms: external skin where tone looks uneven.
- Bikini line: external skin affected by friction, shaving or waxing.
- Inner thighs: areas where rubbing and friction are common.
- Booty and peach area: external skin only.
Bestie rule: patch test first and follow the product directions.
How to use Your Pink Bits on your face
If you'd like to introduce YPB to your facial skincare routine, keep things simple.
1. Patch test first.
Try a small amount on a discreet area of skin and see how your skin responds before applying more widely.
2. Start with clean, dry skin.
Apply a small amount to the external area you'd like to care for. You don't need to slather it on. A little goes a long way.
3. Be consistent.
Skincare is a routine, not a magic wand. Don't pile on more product because you're impatient for a result. Follow the product directions and give your routine time.
4. Don't forget sunscreen.
This one is particularly important on the face. UV exposure can contribute to pigmentation becoming darker or more noticeable, so broad-spectrum sun protection should be part of your daytime skincare routine.
5. Listen to your skin.
If your skin becomes irritated, stop using the product on that area.
Patch test, bestie 💗
Whenever you're introducing YPB to a new area, especially your face, patch test first. Keep it external, avoid the eyes and mouth, and stop using it on that area if irritation occurs.
FAQs: Using YPB on the face
Can I use YPB on dark marks left after blemishes?
If what you're seeing is post-blemish dark marks or uneven-looking tone, you may choose to use YPB as part of your brightening skincare routine.
YPB is a cosmetic brightening skincare product. It isn't an acne treatment, and we don't claim to diagnose, treat or cure acne, melasma or other skin conditions.
If you're dealing with active or persistent acne, unexplained pigmentation, melasma or another skin condition, speak with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional about what's causing it and the best way to care for your skin.
Where else can I use YPB?
YPB can be used on external skin including the face, underarms, bikini line, inner thighs, booty and peach area, plus other external body areas where you'd like to care for the appearance of dark spots or uneven-looking tone. Patch test first and follow the product directions.
Does brightening cream permanently lighten skin?
No, and that's not what we're trying to do. Your natural skin tone isn't something that needs correcting. YPB is about supporting the appearance of brighter, more even-looking skin in areas where you notice dark spots or uneven tone.
We don't promise permanent lightening, changing your natural skin colour or turning you three shades lighter by next Tuesday. Because that's not how we do skincare around here.
How long does brightening cream take to work?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Skin, pigmentation and skincare routines vary from person to person, so one person's experience won't necessarily be the same as another's.
That's why we don't promise overnight transformations or guaranteed results. Consistency matters more than going overboard with product.
Can I use YPB on sensitive skin?
Everyone's skin is different, which is exactly why we're big believers in the humble patch test. Before using YPB on a new area, particularly your face, apply a small amount to a discreet patch of skin first. If your skin isn't happy, don't try to convince it otherwise.
Is YPB a face cream now?
Well... we're still Your Pink Bits. 💗 We created YPB because intimate and body skincare deserved the same attention, quality and normal conversation that facial skincare gets.
Our customers just reminded us that skincare doesn't necessarily need to live in neat little boxes.
So... face, pits, thighs and bits?
Pretty much.
We started Your Pink Bits because intimate and body skincare deserved the same attention and normal conversation as facial skincare. Turns out some of you decided the relationship could work both ways.
One brightening cream. Plenty of bits.
Just remember to patch test first, protect your face from the sun, stay consistent and don't expect your perfectly normal human skin to look like it's been run through an Instagram filter.
Pigmentation doesn't make your skin dirty, embarrassing or something you need to hide.
But if you want to give areas of uneven-looking tone a little extra skincare love? That's what we're here for. 💗
